Ronan Loftus is the Global Executive Director for MSD Animal Health. He is responsible for commercial activities of the DNA TRACEBACK® platform, which provides verifiable solutions from fork-to-farm for food producers, processors and retailers for Livestock and Aquaculture, as well as greater transparency, quality, and sustainability of food sources for consumers.  MSD Animal Health, a division of Merck & Co., Inc., Rahway, N.J., USA, is the global animal health business of MSD.

He has vast experience with the food supply chain. Formerly, he was a co-founder of IdentiGEN, a leader in DNA-based traceability solutions, which was acquired by MSD Animal Health in 2020. Ronan has been a guest speaker at many international food industry and retail conferences and is a regular contributor at the PAPSAC Food Leadership Group within Harvard Business School.

Ronan holds a Ph.D. from Trinity College Dublin on the genetic characterization of livestock, and an Executive MBA from University College Dublin Graduate Business School.
